Every Sunday, Bogota blocks off some of its main streets for runners, rollerbladers and cyclists to enjoy.
The Ciclovia was launched in Bogota and is now copied by other cities in Colombia and throughout the world. Miles and miles of the main streets in the city are shut to traffic, and reclaimed by cyclists, joggers, walkers and rollerbladers every Sunday between 7am and 2pm.
Along the pavements of the ciclovia you’ll find bicycle mechanics, free aerobics classes, snacks and fresh fruit juices for sale. It is enjoyed by around 2 million people each Sunday, so grab your trainers and hit the car-free roads!
