Learn Spanish in Cali!

We visited Cali and it was great!! Nice people, nice weather. But we went there for more than fun and dancing salsa (which of course we did too). We went to Cali to find out more about the Spanish courses offered in this city.

We realised that Cali is, like Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena, an excellent option for foreigners looking to learn Spanish and immerse themselves in the Colombian culture. Studying in Cali gives you more than just classes; you have the warm weather, you can learn to dance Salsa with the experts and you are also very close to the Pacific ocean which has nice and relaxing beaches that aren’t as touristy as the ones on the Atlantic. For all those reasons we decided to come so we could get to know more about the Spanish schools in Cali to find the best options for all of you.

In Cali you can find different options to study Spanish, however, (like every other city), not all of them have the qualifications and enough experience. We have discovered two options to study in Cali and you can choose where to go according to your interest and goals – They are both great!

Universidad Santiago de Cali is one of the top universities in Cali and they have been teaching Spanish for more than 5 years. The intensity of the course varies from 2 to 4 months, the classes are small, the prices are affordable and you will get a certificate at the end of the program. Once you’ve decided to study at the university you are allowed to sign up to the gym for the same price as students, you can use the library and other facilities, and the best part is that you can take part in extra-curricular activities and Salsa classes!!!

The other school in Cali that we highly recommend is Lingua Viva. Lingua Viva is a flexible and fun school that gives you the chance to immerse in the culture and enjoy it with locals. How long the classes are and how many hours is all your choice. The classes are focused in communication so you take part in debates and discussions about what’s happening now in the city, country and world. The best part about studying at Lingua Viva is that it’s almost a 1 to 1 teaching experience. It’s very personal and friendly and, of course, Salsa lessons and trips are offered!!
